In Montenegro, Bond allies himself with Rene Mathis (Giancarlo Giannini) MI6's local field Agent, and Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright), who is representing the interests of the C.I.A. At first skeptical of what value Vesper can provide, Bond's interest in her deepens as they brave danger together and even torture at the hands of Le Chiffre. M (Dame Judi Dench) places Bond under the watchful eye of the beguiling Vesper Lynd (Eva Green). MI6 assigns 007 to play against him, knowing that if Le Chiffre loses, it will destroy his organization. Secret Service intelligence reveals that Le Chiffre is planning to raise money in a high-stakes poker game in Montenegro at Le Casino Royale. He learns that Dimitrios is involved with Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen), banker to the world's terrorist organizations. Following a lead to the Bahamas, he encounters Alex Dimitrios (Simon Abkarian) and his girlfriend, Solange (Catarina Morino). Not everything goes to plan and Bond decides to investigate, independently of MI6, in order to track down the rest of the terrorist cell.

Bond's first 007 mission takes him to Uganda, where he is to spy on a terrorist, Mollaka (Sebastien Foucan). But Bond is no less dangerous, and with two professional assassinations in quick succession, he is elevated to '00' status. Still, Valenka later poisoned Bond's martini, which sent him into cardiac arrest, and she aided and abetted all of Le Chiffre's many crimes, so Valenka arguably earned her fate.This movie introduces James Bond (Daniel Craig) before he holds his license to kill. The Ugandans even threatened to cut Valenka's arm off with a sword. Ugandan criminals whose money Le Chiffre swindled attacked them both in their Hotel Splendid suite. In addition, Valenka is brutalized earlier in the film. Like Solange, Valenka's death happens off-camera in the moments prior to White murdering Le Chiffre, we hear her shout a warning before a gunshot kills her. When 007 returned to Nassau, he found Solange had been tortured, murdered, and left wrapped in a hammock on the beach as a message from Quantum.įinally, Le Chiffre's own mistress Valenka (Ivana Milicevic) also perished when she was assassinated by Quantum's Mr. Solange unwittingly informed 007 that Alex was en route to Miami to commit a terrorist act, which Bond foiled.

In Nassau, Bahamas, Bond seduced Solange to pump her for information about her husband's plans (and because of his preference for married women). The first Bond Girl to die in Casino Royale was Solange Dimitrios (Caterina Murino), the wife of Alex Dimitrios (Simon Abkarian), an associate of Le Chiffre and Quantum.
